To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. -Theodore Roosevelt
If you've been wondering what I've been up to for the last few years, well, while doing some research into a page I never got around to finishing I got sucked into the world of Poser. A rendering program that allows a no-talent hack like me to actually make images that pass for some for of art on a good day. Most of my work is pinup art, but I occasionally make art suitable for the entire family.

On June 15, 2008, my mother, Joycelyn Ward, died of complications arising from a heart attack and congestive heart failure she suffered in February of 2008. She was 66. My mother leaves behind her mother, Virginia, her brother Forrest, her half-sister Loretta, her son Richard (that would be me), her daughter Julie, her granddaughter Maya, and a goodly number of nieces, grand nieces and a grand nephew or two.
My mother was a voracious reader, going through books like most people go through breathing air. She was a life-long educator and advocate of children's rights. She made many sacrifices, in her personal and professional lives, to make sure that my sister and I did not end up going through the trauma she experienced as a child. I made the image to the left as a way of dealing with my feelings.
